Public policies reflect the relevance of gender-based violence based on the demand for gender equality and the insufficient protection against such violence. The context of the health emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic meant that the victims lived together with their aggressors during quarantine. The purpose of this paper is firstly to review the concept of gender and the influence of society on the roles determined for men and women. Secondly, this paper will analyze the relationship between gender violence and domestic violence. Finally, it will examine some elements of aggressions in a context of family coexistence and the data collected in recent years.
